During this drive you will have a chance to take advantage of the many pullouts along the route where you can see and photograph everything from Alaska wildflowers to the mysterious phenomena known as the Bore Tide that occurs in the waters of Cook Inlet. Stop at Beluga Lookout for a chance to see the Cook Inlet Beluga Whales as they feed on the abundant salmon returning to the local streams.

There is also the Kenai Fjords National Park where steep-sided, glacier-carved valleys give you an up-close look at an Alaska far different then that of the metro area. Located on the coastal community of Seward Alaska, Kenai Fjords National Park is home to the Harding Ice Field, the largest ice field that is entirely within U.S. borders. Take the remarkable Kenai Fjords Cruise out of Seward and experience Stellar sea lions, harbor seals, Dall's porpoises, sea otters and whales in their natural habitat. Listen for the sounds of thousands of seabirds and watch as local charter boats real in salmon halibut and other abundant sea fare. The historic town of Seward, whose quaint shops await exploration, is a must see for all who visit Anchorage on an Alaska Vacation
